Why is this uniquely toxic? It distorts program execution. Leaders panic-buy “quantum-proof” bolt-ons, engineering is distracted, and budgets are siphoned away from the work that actually reduces risk: crypto inventories, dependency mapping, certificate lifecycle hygiene, protocol upgrades, and crypto-agility. Treat Q-FUD as friction on the largest cryptographic migration in history and focus on disciplined execution, not hype.
